What did the American people want when they voted for change?
Although we did need to get rid of the idiot in the white house and put someone who wouldn't follow the exact same policies as he did, I am not a fan of Obama at all.Besides his most convincing public speeches and his impeccable arguments, most changes Americans hoped for were not rooted in his words but within our own minds.
Most Americans opposed the bailouts even though only a small percentage of us knew the mess it would create. I admire Ron Paul congressman that stood up against his own party on many issues, to deliver these warnings.
Most Americans disapprove of the War on Terror but have been convinced at some level that if we pull our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan, this would result in a quagmire. Despite this fact, war disapproval was one of the reasons Obama won the presidential elections. We are still waiting for this change, which will probably never really happen. I believe this because when we eventually do pull out of Iraq in 2011, we will leave 30,000 troops stationed there thus further stretching our military forces throughout the world.
This is the thing about our Republic, we vote for representation; not necessarily for the direct will of the people such as the state of California. Both have room for corruption. One is surely to fall as the will of the people is not always the good of the people (see California's budget).
Where are our jobs? They have been re-allocated throughout the world. We have successfully hi-jacked the whole world's economy and meshed it with our own. Most nations now indirectly depend on us for work since we outsource as much as we can. This is done on purpose I believe.
Most nations also use our dollar currency as their savings. And many nations (example: Iceland) invest heavily on our economy/debt as savings. We have an unsustainable foreign debt that will get so big that we won't even be able to afford the interest rate. This is very comparable with most Americans which have run most personal debts to the point in which they also cannot even afford their credit card's interest rate. To pay for the foreign debt, the government prints out more money so it devaluates its own debt (I wish I could do that). Bush did this by creating wars that more or less fulfilled his personal vendetta. Obama is trying to do this by investing internally before the whole system collapses. To break it down:
1. We control the money that most countries use as a reserve.
2. We print this money at will.
3. We buy everything and outsource many services overseas with this money.
4. We spend more than we can and print more money.
5. The world purchase bonds against the printing of that money. They earn interest.
6. We print money faster than the interest earned on these bonds so as to pay it back.
7. We use this money on our selves and continue to spend to oblivion.
8. The world purchase more bonds to protect their existing bonds and their money reserve.
9. With this system in place, we may run the biggest welfare state that ever existed.
10. We can also finance military adventures throughout the world at our will.
Before item #10, the world worshiped our country and culture. The prosperity brought in massive cultural influence throughout the world. After we execute #10, we are hated for our disregard of foreign national sovereignty and human life. Soon they come to realize that our prosperity is over-indulgent and start to criticize how much we eat and consume as a whole. Hopefully many won't understand the whole cycle.
My beef is with this whole thing that Nixon (I believe) created. I believe this all materialized from Bretton Woods 2 (read Washingon Concensus). By having Bretton Woods 2 put in place, it created this "loophole" so to speak with China. I know this thus far has worked in China's favor, and somewhat on America's favor (except the debt part). My question here is:
If America somehow manages to afford all these socialist programs being pushed by Obama as a way to monetize the debt and still be able to afford the interest rates associated with it, what is the downfall of this whole system? Wouldn't the unraveling of this whole system, destroy America and China as well? Or would the solution be to slowly fix this whole mess?
By the way, I am a Libertarian and I am completely against this whole crazy shenanigan but would like to understand more. I would love for Ron Paul to be president and for the Campaign for Liberty hi-jack the Republican party and put the country back on track.
Please enlighten me Constitutional Conservatives, Fiscal Conservatives, Paulistas, Economists and Democrats as a whole. (Lets not get biased here) Also correct me if I don't understand the system properly.
